Itinerary: 10 Days Tour From Tangier to Marrakech Via desert
Day 1: Tangier – Chefchaouen.
The visit begins in Tangier then we will cross the RIF mountains and the town of Ouazzan famous for the typical Moroccan coat “JELLABA”. Later in the afternoon, you will witness the outdoor sunset of the blue city CHEFCHAOUEN the icon of the RIF. Night in your riad in Chefchaouen.
Day 2: Chefchaouen – Volubilis – Meknes – Fez.
After breakfast in the Riad, our trip will start towards Volubilis crossing Ouazan and other villages of the Rif, Volubilis we will stop to discover the Roman ruins and discover the archaeological site of Moroccan history, after the visit of the ruins, we will go to City from Meknes with its 17th century heritage, where we will stop for lunch and stroll through the huge historical walls of the medina, Bab El Mansour, and enjoy a visit to the Moulay Ismail mausoleum. night in Fez.
Day 3: guided tour of Fez.
You will have a guided tour to discover the medina and the famous souks of Fez and its cobbled streets are lined with ancient mosques and imposing green-glazed minarets. Day 4: Fez – Ifrane – Azrou – Ziz Valley – Merzouga.
Departure south towards Azrou via Ifrane (Switzerland of Morocco) then towards the Middle Atlas mountains through the cedar forest, fascinating photos can be taken with the barbarian apes, the road continues through the Atlas mountains enjoying the landscapes of Midelt. After lunch, we will continue our journey through the Ziz valley to Erfoud, Rissani and Merzouga. Upon arrival we will be greeted with a cup of tea. Night at the hotel / Riad.
Day 5: Merzouga region and camel trek.
After breakfast we will begin to explore the area, we will begin by visiting the black town of Mali to enjoy their music and way of life. After that, we will head to Miffis Mines to explore how they work there before going behind the dunes in a desert filled with enchanting views. Before returning to the hotel, after a cup of tea, your local guides will teach you how to get on and off your horse and other practical safety tips for camels, then you will begin to explore the mysterious sand sea of the Erg-Chebbi. Night in Berber tent.
Day 6: Merzouga – Todgha Gorges – Dades Valley.
We will do our makeup early in the morning, to see the best sunrise of your life, projecting different shades and colors, over the sea of sand dunes, the highest in Morocco, before returning to our hotel in the desert. After breakfast, we will continue to Tinghir and the impressive Todra Gorges, the highest and narrowest gorges in Morocco. The gorge is a great place to hike and relax by the river, or to try local Berber specialties. After lunch in the heart of the gorges, we will cross the Dades Valley, where we will end our day by spending the night in a beautiful hotel, located on the edge of the Dades Valley.
Day 7: Dades Valley – Ait Ben Haddou – Marrakech.
After breakfast at the hotel, we will drive through the Dades Valley, towards Kalaat Mgouna and Ouarzazate. The route through the Dades Valley is “the Route of the 1000 Kasbahs”. Then we will pass through “the city of roses”, which is known for the production of rose water. Our journey will continue to Ouarzazat, “the Hollywood of Africa”. After lunch, in the famous kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou (UNESCO heritage since 1987) and the largest Kasbah in Morocco, many movies have been filmed there including The Gladiator Mummy, our journey will continue through the highest pass most important in Africa (2260 m ), on the High Atlas mountains, before reaching Marrakech, where the tour ends.
Day 8: Guided tour of Marrakech.
You will have a guided tour to discover the most exotic places in Marrakech, the famous Jamaa El Fna square, the Majorelle gardens, the Saadian tombs with a walk through the labyrinth of alleys of the Medina among its famous souks. Night at the hotel/riad.
Day 9: Marrakech – Essaouira.
After breakfast, departure for Essaouira known by its old Portuguese name “Mogador” on the way, we may have the chance to meet some goats climbing argan trees. Upon arrival, we will have Moroccan lunch, fresh fish. In the afternoon, you will have a city tour through the alleys of the medina, including its handicrafts, silver jewelry and Thuja wood inlays. Night in hotel / riad.
Day 10: Essaouira – Marrakech airport.
After breakfast, transfer to Marrakech airport for your departure flight.
