Itinerary: 8 days Tour from Fes to Marrakech via Merzouga desert

Day 1: Transfer Airport from Fes

After we meet up, we will take you from the airport to your accommodation where you will spend the day relaxing and preparing yourself for the day after.

Day 2: Visit of Fez.

After breakfast, you will start to discover the most historical and cultural city in Morocco. In Fez, “the spiritual city of Morocco”, you will visit the medina, the old city, with its architecture. Our guided tour in Fez includes many monuments such as the Jewish Quarter (Mellah) and Dar El Makhzen or the Royal Palace with its colorful architecture of mosaics and golden doors. After that we will continue to Merzouga via Aoufous and Erfoud, in 2 hours drive we will connect with the beautiful land of sand dunes (Erg-Chebbi) where we will have dinner and stay in a local hotel / or Riad.

Day 4: Desert tour – Lake Merzouga – Khamliya village – Nomadic family – Camel trek and overnight in the desert camp.

After breakfast, we will start our journey around the Erg-Chebbi sand dunes. We will explore many interesting places in the area like Lake Merzouga (not always full of water) to see the types of birds (ducks and flamingos) that come to live in this lake, especially in the spring. We will visit the village of Khamliya where you will hear African music (Gnawa) performed by people from black Africa, then we will continue our off-road desert tour to the black desert behind the sand dunes of Erg-Chebbi. We will visit an abandoned village where working mineral fossils are found, then drive to visit a nomadic Berber family to see the way of life.
We will return to Khamliya for a delicious lunch at a local restaurant. In the afternoon, you will start the adventure of camel trekking, through the beautiful and unique orange sand dunes to the desert camp. A beautiful experience where you can feed your soul, enjoy the magnificent sunset in the middle of the dunes. Dinner and overnight will be at the camp, music will be played and you can have fun on the sand dunes under billions of stars.

Day 5: Merzouga – City of Rissani – Tinghir – Todra Valley and Gorges – Dades Valley – City of Roses – Ouarzazate.

The next morning, it is best to get up early for a beautiful sunrise, after breakfast and shower, return by camel/vehicle to the town of Merzouga, departure to the town of Rissani. We will walk through the famous, traditional and largest market in the region, exploring local products and fine crafts.
