Day 1: Transfer Airport from Fes
After we meet up, we will take you from the airport to your accommodation where you will spend the day relaxing and preparing yourself for the day after.
Day 2: Visit of Fez.
After breakfast, you will start to discover the most historical and cultural city in Morocco. In Fez, “the spiritual city of Morocco”, you will visit the medina, the old city, with its architecture. Our guided tour in Fez includes many monuments such as the Jewish Quarter (Mellah) and Dar El Makhzen or the Royal Palace with its colorful architecture of mosaics and golden doors. The famous Chaouwara tanneries, the city’s largest leather workshop, built in the 11th century. After breakfast, we leave Fez and cross the mountains of the Middle Atlas. We will stop in the town of Ifrane nicknamed “the Switzerland of Morocco”. We will also stop at the cedar forest near Azrou, where we can observe barbarian monkeys. Then continue our drive to Midelt, the famous apple city where we will have free time for lunch. Later in the afternoon, we will head to the Sahara Desert towards the Tizi N’talghoumte pass (1907m), passing small Berber villages and the beautiful Ziz Valley located near the town of Errachidia. After that we will continue to Merzouga via Aoufous and Erfoud, in 2 hours drive we will connect with the beautiful land of sand dunes (Erg-Chebbi) where we will have dinner and stay in a local hotel / or Riad.
Day 4: Desert tour – Lake Merzouga – Khamliya village – Nomadic family – Camel trek and overnight in the desert camp.
After breakfast, we will start our journey around the Erg-Chebbi sand dunes. We will explore many interesting places in the area like Lake Merzouga (not always full of water) to see the types of birds (ducks and flamingos) that come to live in this lake, especially in the spring. We will visit the village of Khamliya where you will hear African music (Gnawa) performed by people from black Africa, then we will continue our off-road desert tour to the black desert behind the sand dunes of Erg-Chebbi. We will visit an abandoned village where working mineral fossils are found, then drive to visit a nomadic Berber family to see the way of life.
We will return to Khamliya for a delicious lunch at a local restaurant. In the afternoon, you will start the adventure of camel trekking, through the beautiful and unique orange sand dunes to the desert camp. A beautiful experience where you can feed your soul, enjoy the magnificent sunset in the middle of the dunes. Dinner and overnight will be at the camp, music will be played and you can have fun on the sand dunes under billions of stars.
Day 5: Merzouga – City of Rissani – Tinghir – Todra Valley and Gorges – Dades Valley – City of Roses – Ouarzazate.
The next morning, it is best to get up early for a beautiful sunrise, after breakfast and shower, return by camel/vehicle to the town of Merzouga, departure to the town of Rissani. We will walk through the famous, traditional and largest market in the region, exploring local products and fine crafts. It is best to visit Rissani on one of the following days: Sunday, Tuesday, and Thursday. On these three days, there is the souk, so it is a good day for people from the desert area who want to go shopping. Later we go to Tinghir with the oasis of Tafilalt where we can stop to see the old irrigation system there.
We continue to the city of Tinjdad where we will have free time for lunch. In the afternoon, we will arrive in Tinghir to explore the breathtaking view of the Todra valley and walk along the Todra Gorge with its imposing orange cliffs, the Todra Gorge canyons are almost 300 meters deep, ct is also a favorite place. for climbers. Day 7: Visit of Marrakech.
After breakfast, you will start exploring the heart of Marrakech, one of the country’s imperial cities, nicknamed the Red City for its sandstone buildings. With your local guide, you will visit the most famous historical sites, the colorful museums and souks, or the markets of the medina, including the Koutoubia Mosque, the Saadian Tombs, the Bahia Palace and the Majorelle Garden, a botanical garden that mixes elements. art deco and moorish.
